About the Artist
Supote Krikul is one of America's foremost waterfall and landscape painters. Born in 1943. in Bangkok, Thailand.
He now makes his home in La Puente, California. Mr. Supote studied art in San Gabriel Alhambra, California. In addition to the educational
background and experience as an artist acquired in Thailand. He is largely a self-taught artist, making frequent forays into the United States wilderness to paint and gather material for his unique watercolors. The techniques feature his style — basic washes, direct painting, and drybrush, painting on wet paper, handling the painting knife — and suggest ways of achieving texture and pattern using masking technique. Through his paintings, the public is introduced to the basics of composition — the relationship of shapes, center of interest, three dimensionality and perspective, value and form, white space, the sequence of painting. and sketching.
Mr. Supote's paintings have been exhibited in various galleries, like Hawaii, Beverly hills, Redding, San Francisco and many group shows in the United States. His paintings as of now. has won him thirty-seven awards. Mr. Supote's paintings are owned by private collectors all over the world.
