Description

Navajo Box Bow Squash Blossom Necklace

A 1940's "box bow" squash blossom necklace. This style and the four lobed (or petaled) blossoms were a prevalent design element in the 1940's and 1950's. This piece is superbly crafted of silver strung on a double row of handmade silver beads with twenty four box bow blossoms, each one set with a single natural turquoise stone.

  • Each stone is set in a deep smooth bezel and mounted on a box bow silver backing with ribbed stampings on the bows.
A 4-lobed blossom accompanies each setting.
  • The naja is a double crescent of sandcast sterling silver with three round turquoise cabochons.
  • Handmade sterling silver bench beads are strung, along with the naja and side blossoms, fastening with a traditional hook-and-eye clasp.
