Artist Ingeborg Plockross Irminger (1872-1962) designed this figurine in 1911. She was working for Bing & Grondahl during 1897 – 1960 and was a creator of many cute children figures. All collectors look for her famous initials ‘IPI’ worldwide. Bing & Grondahl (B&G) was founded in 1853 and existed until 1987, when Royal Copenhagen merged with Bing and Grondahl. B & G, Bing & Grondahl refer to the founders: Fred. Vilh. Grøndahl (1819-1856), technical director; the brothers M.H. Bing (1819 - 1883) and J.H. Bing (1811 -1896) as economical directors. This figurine is marked with three towers in green. This hallmark comes from the City Coat of Arms of Copenhagen. ‘B&G’ printed below the tower in green, ‘Copenhagen Porcelain’ printed in green circle and ‘B&G’ below together with ‘Made In Denmark’ identifies production of 1962-1970
