"Teatime", 63" X 51" Wall-Hanging Art Quilt by Karen Watts
This cool and unique quilt is number 18 in the artist's "Scrap Soup" series. Scrap soup quilts are a lot of fun to do, in that they use bits and pieces and blocks that were originally made for other quilts but were not used. For this quilt, Karen used a printed panel (cut apart) as the anchoring pieces. The various pieced and appliquéd blocks were made by Karen and six of her quilting friends. Karen builds these on her design wall, moving pieces around, adding here and there, until she is happy with the arrangement. Then all the pieces are sewn together. About the Artist:
Karen Watts, Mayhill, NM
Karen is a very talented fabric artist, and has been creating quilts for 32 years. She has won numerous awards for many of her beautiful and unique creations. Karen has been very kind to donate several quilts to help 1CaT, and most of these have been raffled at various times in the past few years. This quilt, "Teatime", is the second largest and second most valuable she has given us to date. Karen also has donated several jewelry pieces and other art items that are included in this auction. We are extremely grateful to Karen for the funds she has helped us raise for our kitties!
