Dave's Café is one of the most popular eateries in Cloudcroft. Often a table or stool at the bar is difficult to grab at Dave's, especially at lunchtime and on crowded weekends. Chuck Venable is the owner of Dave's and Higher Grounds, the coffee/ice cream shop in the same building. Our longtime friend Chuck was very kind to help 1CaT, and we are grateful.
About the Café:
Longtime Cloudcroft resident Dave Venable opened his café way back in 1984 in a much smaller space than the restaurant takes up now. Proving a big hit from the start, Dave's has endured. In 2006, Dave's youngest son, Chuck, took over the operation of the popular café. Dave's expanded into its current space after a devastating fire destroyed the building in which the café was located, and Dave and Chuck rebuilt and reopened in 2013.
