Vintage Original Watercolor Painting, Framed, by Carol Jean Green
Our generous friend Karen Watts, who created and donated her lovely large wall-hanging quilt, "Kitty's Garden", also donated nine of Carol Jean Green's pieces -- seven original watercolor paintings and two prints. These pieces all are in great condition, and look almost as good as new. According to Karen, who purchased all of this art from the artist mainly in the 1980s, Carol always placed a cat in her paintings because she was a cat lover. The delicate and clean lines of Carol's watercolors are very attractive, and beg to be hung in an art lover's home to be enjoyed for many years to come. In searching the internet for Carol's art, there isn't much to be found, but what is available seems to be fairly valuable. The estimated value of this framed original watercolor painting is $150-$200.
About the Artist:
Carol Jean Green
In searching the internet for Carol Jean Green, we were unable to find much information. However, her art, especially her originals, seems to be fairly valuable. From the back of one of her original paintings, we learned that Carol Jean Green was born in Berkeley, CA, but grew up mainly in the Far East and India. According to this short bio from the 1980s, she resided for a while on the island of Ibiza, Spain. "A self-taught "naif", her original watercolors of the Mediterranean, California and Southwest influence are sought after by collectors worldwide."
