"Laughing Donkey", Painting, Framable, Watercolor on Paper by Carol Hale
This fun and entertaining painting was done by our friend Carol Hale. Doing the Covid shutdown, she decided that she needed to paint us a blue donkey to cheer us up. We loved her gift, had it framed, and placed it in our Cloudcroft, NM gift shop/gallery Off the Beaten Path. Many of our friends and customers loved Carol's painting, and we had several special requests for more of Carol's donkey portraits, so she began painting donkeys for us to sell. Carol donated her adorable "Laughing Donkey" painting to help 1CaT, which is valued at $55.
About the Artist:
Carol Hale, Georgetown, TX
Loving to play and create with watercolors, Carol has painted donkeys for several years now. She always had been interested in art and painting but did not really begin spending time working in watercolors until the last of her kids went off to college. Carol began with flowers and still life, then moved to landscapes. Her first animals were cows and horses. According to Carol, "I do anything that catches my interest or that someone requests. So my first donkey was for a friend who mentioned she liked donkeys. Then they became amusing as each donkey clearly has its own unique personality. I like the shy ones but the laughing ones are more fun to paint."
