"Petite Danseuse", Bronze Wall Art by Barbara Burzillo
This small but striking wall piece was first carved in clay by Barbara. Then the original carving is destroyed in the process of making a mold for the bronze. Barbara uses different patinas on her bronzes to bring out the unique beauty of each piece of art. We included a few different photos on assorted backgrounds to show various highlights of this cool bronze piece, and a closeup photo to view more details. Barbara's "Petite Danseuse" is valued at $85.
About the Artist:
Barbara Burzillo, Placitas, NM
Barbara left her native New York in 1995 for the Southwest, with which she had fallen in love. She is a self-taught artist. She explains, “My subjects are varied; however, my passion is the human form. I revel in dramatic gestures and bright pallettes.” She adds that whimsy and spiritual symbolism usually are present. “My inspiration comes from my spirituality." Barbara relies on the medium to be an active participant in determining the subject of her art. “While I sometimes plan,” she continues, “my most successful sculptures and paintings are of organic origins. “I create art because it is a wonderful way to communicate at the deepest level with those around me.”
