Madagascar Ammonite Fossils
Three Pieces - the larger two are halves of the same ammonite.
Ammonites were marine animals that lived during the time of the dinosaurs, approximately 245-65 million years ago. They are called ammonites because their shells resemble the coiled horns of the ancient Egyptian ram-headed god, Ammon. Ammonite fossils are often found in sedimentary rock, and are prized by collectors for their unique and intricate patterns.
