This beautiful silk carpet/rug is made in Kashmir, India. The navy blue field of the rug/carpet depicts a scene where hunters on horseback going after their prey with spears, swords and bows. The border depicts the peaceful flora and fauna of the jungle. The field and border contradict each other as on depicts peace through the flora and fauna and the other the violence through the hunters. The other colours primarily include rust, tan, blue, beige.  This is a silk on silk rug/carpet where both the pile and warp of the carpet are made of silk.
