14K Gold Sapphire & Pearl Tassel bracelet
The bracelet is constructed of 14K yellow gold (marked 14K on the back of the clasp). The vintage belt style bracelet (circa 1960) measures 8 inches in length by 3/4 inch in width and a decorative gemstone buckle style clasp secures it. The length is adjustable for a 7-1/2 inch wrist or smaller. The 'belt' consists of 9 center staggered rows of alternating smooth and grooved brick mesh-like links edged by 3.25mm diameter solid rope chain and terminated on one end by two 1-1/2 inch long gold tassels. Each tassel has a bell shaped filigree cap with 9 handwoven foxtail chains each terminated by a round gold bead. The opposing end of the bracelet has a hinge vertical crown-like friction lock clasp with center prong and a lateral safety catch. The crown is topped by 26 modified round brilliant cut sapphires individually set in four-prongs. They measure 1.70-1.80mm in diameter and they are estimated to weigh 0.025-0.035ct. each, totaling approximately 0.78ct. They are eye clean to moderately included and medium-dark to dark, grayish to very slightly grayish, violetish-Blue in color. The crown has 3 undrilled round saltwater (Akoya) cultured pearls individually set in six prongs. They measure 4.00-4.10mm in diameter and they are white with faint pink and green overtones, and good luster. They are lightly blemished and well matched. Total estimated gem weight is 2.37cts. The gold is estimated to weigh 57.6 grams. The clasp was cast, assembled and handset with a bright polished finish, and the chain and tassel portions manufactured with a bright polished finish.
