Medium: Etching in Black on Laid Paper
Robert Swain Gifford's original etching, "Coal Pockets at New Bedford, Massachusetts" was created by the nineteenth century American artist in 1879. Although he etched scenes in Britain and continental Europe, Robert Gifford was best known for his landscapes of New England, particularly his coastal views. This original etching was commissioned in 1879 by the "American Art Review", Boston.
