This little robot (commonly called R.O.B.) was sold as part of the Nintendo Entertainment System. R.O.B. captivated users with its innovative interface. Unlike conventional methods of connectivity, R.O.B. didn't rely on wired, infrared, or RF connections; instead, it utilized a unique system that sensed flashes from the television screen. Ensuring R.O.B.'s eyes are directed towards the TV allowed seamless operation. While these flashes are imperceptible to the naked eye, activating 'test mode' speeds them up, making them visible. Once aligned correctly, R.O.B. signals readiness with a glowing red LED on its head, ready to embark on gaming adventures.
