Polished Petrified Wood Specimen – Arizona Fossil Log, 6"
A fully polished petrified wood specimen from Arizona, representing fossilized Triassic conifer (Araucarioxylon arizonicum). This dense log segment, formed over 200 million years ago in the Chinle Formation, reveals dramatic coloration and fine internal structure. Warm tones of tan, brown, and charcoal dominate one side, while another reveals a striking white mineralized surface, creating bold contrast. Polishing around the entire specimen highlights the growth rings and cellular detail, giving the piece a refined, display-ready finish.
Arizona petrified wood is among the most sought-after worldwide, admired for both its geological significance and natural beauty. Mid-sized yet weighty in hand, this example offers presence as a collector’s fossil and elegance as a decorative accent.
Condition
In very good condition, fully polished with a glossy finish. Natural fissures and inclusions are present, consistent with petrified wood. No chips or significant damage noted.
