1976 $2 Federal Reserve Star Note — Kansas City (J), Scarce Issue
Offered here is a 1976 $2 Federal Reserve Note, the first year of issue for the modern green-seal $2 denomination. This example bears the portrait of Thomas Jefferson on the front and the historic engraving of John Trumbull’s Signing of the Declaration of Independence on the reverse.
What sets this note apart is its star designation and its origin from the Kansas City “J” Federal Reserve District, one of the scarcer issues in the 1976 series. Star notes were printed in smaller quantities as replacements, making them far less common in circulation. Collectors of Bicentennial currency and rare district star notes will recognize the significance of this piece. A desirable addition to any U.S. paper money collection.
Condition
In circulated condition with light folds, minor staining along the margin, and general handling wear consistent with age. Despite this, the note retains strong detail, good color, and fully legible text. Please review images closely for confirmation of condition.
Dimensions
Standard U.S. note size: approximately 6.14 x 2.61 inches.
